Mardi Gras 2007
Mardi Gras is pretty much self-explanatory and requires no further elaboration, although it must be admitted that there is the occasional geezer in a jock-strap passed out on the sidewalk. A goodly number of years ago visiting the kids I decided it was time for me to attend one of the Mardi Gras parades. I joined a group of people imploring those crewing the floats to throw glass-bead necklaces to them. I joined in but was having precious little luck. All of a sudden I was getting drenched in necklaces. They were being thrown from a float crewed by old women.
